We understand the importance of entertaining the little ones- and so, in honor of summer 2014, we are pleased to present our countdown of the top five Destin kid’s activities here in the Destin area.

5. Gulfarium
There’s nothing better than being toe to toe with wildlife in a safe environment, and Gulfarium offers just that- an experience that not only your children, but you, will surely enjoy. There are dolphin shows, sea-life exhibits, and other fun activities to appease kids of all ages. Located on Okaloosa Island, the aquarium is open daily for your enjoyment.

4. Destin Commons
This isn’t just any old mall, it’s an outdoor mall filled with fun for the entire family. There’s the newly opened Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl and Grill, as well as plenty of restaurants to tempt any taste. There’s also plenty of shopping, a movie theater, and even a train for the kids to enjoy. But the best part is located just north of Sephora, where the mall holds a playground and mini-water park filled with fun fountains and colorful equipment. Destin Commons is sure to have something for everyone.

3. The Track
What’s better than an outdoor theme park filled with your favorite outdoor activities? Absolutely nothing! The Track is located off of Highway 98 and is home to everything from an arcade, to bumper boats, to mini golf, to the coolest go-kart racetrack around. It’s three stories tall! It’s one of the busiest, most entertaining places for families and we highly suggest taking advantage of their superb customer service and flexible hours.

2. Big Kahuna’s
Big Kahuna’s is just a hop, skip and a jump away from our #3 location and houses the best water park on the Emerald Coast. There’s a lazy river and plenty of slides to choose from- as well as some adventure rides for those who are seeking a different kind of thrill. It’s open all summer-long for visitors and locals alike.

1. The Beach
Obviously, the number one place for kids in Destin is the beach! There’s plenty of room to run and play, amazing waters to splash in, rentals for things like kayaks and YOLO Boards, and even huge inflatables for the entire family to enjoy. The best part about coming to Florida is the ocean, so why not soak in every ounce of it while you’re here?
