The Christmas Season is fast approaching. There is so much excitement in the air with the holiday items filling the stores, holiday banners hanging on light posts to the Christmas lights going up around town. If you are planning a trip to The Panhandle of Florida in December there is so much to do. Here is just a sampling of Destin Holiday Events you can look forward to:
*Grand Boulevard’s 4th Annual “Festival of Trees” will showcase more than a dozen uniquely decorated Christmas trees from area non-profit organizations in Grand Park. The organizations compete for cash prizes. You can view the trees from November 26 thru December 25.
*12 Nights of Lights at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort Events Plaza, December 4 – 28, 2013. During December, enjoy a festive light show set to your favorite holiday music every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday leading up to Christmas at 6, 7 and 8 PM in the Events Plaza.
*4th Annual Baytowne Holiday Lantern Parade will be held December 14 at 6:00 PM throughout the Village of Baytowne Wharf. This community event will feature custom made paper lanterns in the shapes of iconic symbols of the holiday season. Individuals and groups are invited to participate by creating their own paper lanterns.
*The 27th Annual Holiday on the Harbor 2013 Lighted Boat Parade is presented by the Destin History and Fishing Museum. Come out and enjoy the lights on commercial charters and private boats December 15 at 6:00 PM in the Destin Harbor. The parade will end with fireworks over the harbor.
*End the year at the Baytowne Countdown: Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Baytowne Wharf’s Events Plaza at their end-of-year party! Come dance the night away and enjoy breathtaking fireworks as they light up the sky over the lagoon at midnight!
